One who does good

Catholic Social Teaching

Catholic social teaching (CST) is rooted in Scripture, formed by the wisdom of Church leaders, and influenced by grassroots movements. It is our moral compass, guiding us on how to live out our faith in the world (CAFOD)

We use the CAFOD Catholic Social Teaching resources and the animal mascots to support the children’s understanding of the CST principles.

The animal mascots are used with EYFS, KS1 and KS2. We think about how we act to build a better world.

December 2024:

Catholic Social Teaching Principle for December:  SOLIDARITY  - SHOWING WE CARE

Children are living this principle this month by: the Spires Homeless Charity, singing Carols in the Broadway - raising money for Cafod Crisis Fund and Y6 singing carols and delivering presents to Ensham House Care Home.

November 2024:

Our Catholic Social Teaching principle for November is PEACE - We have been thinking about how we can promote peace in school, our homes and our communities.
Daisy Dove helps us to think about 'Being a Peacemaker'.
Here is the Daisy Dove image and the peace prayer we have been using at school.
