Frequently Asked Questions:

What happens if I am unsuccessful in securing a place?   Please call the school office and ask to join our waitlist.  Many changes happen and families move between April and September so there is still a chance we will be able to offer you a place.  The applicants are ranked according to the school’s oversubscription criteria in their admission arrangements.
You will remain on this list for the entire Year and we will contact you when a space becomes available.

Do I need to get the Priest to sign my form?   We strongly recommend you ask your parish priest to sign your application, even if you only attend occasionally.  Having your parish priest sign your form, regardless of frequency,  will help the Governing board rank your application.  Please also submit a copy of your child's baptism certificate.

For other faiths:  a signed form will also help the Governors rank your application as highly as possible.

What if due to Covid, my child has not been baptised?    Post Covid, we are aware that some families have not been able to have their child baptised, or have not been attending church regularly. We would encourage you to please contact your parish and look into baptismal courses and baptism dates.  Written proof from your priest that you have contacted them and started arranging this could aid your application if the Governors have tie-breakers.  It is also something that will be requested if you are applying for a Catholic Secondary school.

Can you guarantee wrap around care?  St Boniface RC Primary have wrap-around care from 7.45am with with Breakfast Club, and up to 6pm with After School Provision.  This care is provided by our own experienced staff who know the children and is subject to availability and demand in conjunction with the main school.  Successful Reception applicants will receive paperwork with their welcome packs and all efforts are made to help children and families with space.

If my child is born in the Summer and I want to defer a Reception place, what do I do?   Our teachers and staff can help you decide if deferring a year is right for your child. Please come and talk with the Office staff and we can arrange a meeting with the Head and Reception Class Teachers.
You must still apply for a school Reception place (in your child's actual age group) by 15 January 2024 - both online with your Borough and by returning the Supplementary form to the Office, with birth & baptism certificates please.  You can then decline the space, and reapply the following year, but please note this is not a guarantee.  The applications are still ranked according to the Admissions criteria the following year.
